EasyBib

EasyBib is a free website that assists in creating bibliographies in the MLA format. It can be used in any classes that have assignments that require a bibliography in the MLA format. I've used it in my english class when I had to write a short research paper, and provide a bibliography in MLA format.

Free Math Help: Factoring Calculator

Free Math Help provides an excellent factoring calculator that can be used for all math classes. I've used it when working on math homework and I come across a difficult factoring problem.

HowStuffWorks

"HowStuffWorks, a wholly owned subsidiary of Discovery Communications, is the award-winning source of credible, unbiased, and easy-to-understand explanations of how the world actually works. Our premise is simple: Demystify the world and do it in a simple, clear-cut way that anyone can understand. "
HowStuffWorks is a free site that can be used for any class. I've used the site for understanding the digestive system when we were learning about it in physiology.

This free site will mostly be used for math. I've used this site when trying to get a better understanding of last month's math section.

Microsoft Download Center

Microsoft Download Center is a free site where you can upload any Microsoft file, and make it public for classmates or group members to download.
This site can be used for any classes, really. Aside from math probably, since one normally doesn't have to create documents. I've used this site in history class when I needed to send my group members the presentation file so they could review it for the next day.

Prezi

Prezi is used as platform for bridging linear and non-linear information, and as a tool for both free-form brainstorming and structured presentation. Text, images, videos and other presentation media are placed upon the canvas, and can be grouped together in frames. Users then designate the relative size and position between all presentation objects and may pan and zoom in and between these objects. For linear presentations, users can construct a prescribed navigation path.
Prezi is a free program that can potentially be used for any classes. This is another presentation website, but it is limited to just slides. I've used it for history when I had to create a presentation on the wepaons of World War II.

Refdesk.com

Refdesk is a free and family friendly web site that indexes and reviews quality, credible, and current web-based reference resources. It is one site with links and search boxes for multiple sites including news, weather, search engines, newspapers, dictionaries, etc.
This free site I've used only a few times because honestly, I forget about it. I usually just go to Google and search for stuff there. The few times I have used it though, I used it for physiology on a homework assignment on the nervous system.

Slader

Slader is an academic community for students, by students. It is the first crowd-sourced approach to education online. Slader empowers students to shape their own educational experience.
Users view and share original answers and work for high school textbooks, join academic classes, post homework assignments, and discuss subject-specific questions with their peers and classmates on the Slader site. Slader offers an alternative to expensive tutors and costly after-school programs. It ensures that every student has access to the academic resources that secure success.
This free website has information for all classes and text books, but I've only used it for math homework. It is very helpful, and explains the process of solving problems step-by-step.

TeacherTube

TeacherTube is a video sharing website similar to, and based on, YouTube. It is designed to allow those in the educational industry, particularly teachers, to share educational resources such as video, audio, documents, photos, groups and blogs. This free site contains a mixture of classroom teaching resources and others designed to aid teacher training. It has found favor with educators for whom YouTube content is blocked by content filtering systems.
This site can be used for any class. There are many informational videos out on this site, and I've personally used it when searching for a better understanding of what we go over in Physiology.

VCASMO

If you want to put a speech on the Web so people can see it, and you have a video of it and a PowerPoint or a PDF (or a collection of JPEGs), with Vcasmo you can put the media together side-by-side. A simple timeline editor lets you define exactly when images display in your presentation. Once the presentation is all synched to your satisfaction, you can embed it on your own pages. This site could be used for any classes that require a presentation. I've personally used it for my history class when I had to create a presentation about the Manhattan Project.
